Lexmark X5150 Reviews | Lexmark X5150 is an All-In-One printer that looks like a desktop copier is best described as almost all-in-one. It can serve as a printer, scanner, and copier, but can not really replace a fax machine. If your faxing needs are limited, though, X5150 may offer all the features we need.
As a printer, the Lexmark X5150 offers good performance at a respectable text of 5.7 pages per minute (ppm) in the default mode for the 30-page document in Microsoft Word. photo printing, on the other hand, is on the slow side. In the best mode, various tests we 8- by 10-inch picture takes anywhere from 4 minutes 9 seconds to 05:08 on plain paper and 8: 13-08: 57 on glossy photo paper.
The good news is that the photos are worth the wait, with near-photo quality and no major flaws. Text in the default mode is grayish touch but easy to read in small sizes such as 5 points with more than half of the fonts we used in our testing. graphics fully saturated color even in default mode. The X5150 also did an excellent job as a color copier, produces surprisingly high-quality copies of photos scanned.
Lexmark X5150 is not good as a scanner, too. Using 8- by 10-inch photos, we timed 300 dpi scan into Photoshop at a reasonable 37 seconds for a 24-bit color and 19 seconds for grayscale printing. Note also that in addition to Twain driver for scanning, Lexmark supplying bundled photo editor itself and Abbyy FineReader 5.0 Sprint OCR software. Unfortunately, the lack of an automatic document feeder limits the usefulness of the package when scanning more than one page at a time to perform OCR or for other purposes.
